Many years passed without people knowing which type of treatment to use when they have been subjected to sinus infections. It is only recently that possible types of treatment were discovered and placed into two distinct groups.These groups include the natural treatments and medicinal treatments.

Those with chronic sinus suffer for about three to eight weeks more or less. What is chronic sinus infection treatment then, one may ask. But before going into the details of chronic sinus it is pertinent to know about the symptoms. Generally, the symptoms for chronic sinus are unbearable headaches, trouble in breathing and tiredness, fever, painful jaws and yellow discharge from the nose.

That is when there is much facial pain pus generation and other self care treatment does not seem to work. Medicines for pain such as ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen can lessen the pain and inflammation. These medications help to open the nasal passage by reducing inflammation.and must be able to kill the bacterial types. Medications like Amoxicillin (Amoxil) , cefaclor (Ceclor), loracarbef (Lorabid), clarithromycin (Biaxin), azithromycin (Zithromax), sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim (Bactrim, Septra) antibiotic may be used as first choices to treat sinus.

Acupuncture. This really did help my back. But acupuncture was no use whatsoever as a sinus infection treatment. And it was $100 bucks a visit! However, having a small oriental lady use you for a pin cushion does tend to take your mind off your problems.

The symptoms of a sinus infection are pressure around the nose, a tenderness around the eyes and nose, pain in the jaws, headache, and a thick yellow discharge from the nose. These are often accompanied by an earache. Sinuses are present in pairs and there exist four pairs of sinuses. The symptoms and the corresponding treatment are dependent on the sinus area affected.

A preventive sinus infection treatment is adequate bed rest. In today world, there is no doubt that being in a continued stressed state has a taxing effect on your immune system. If you don't give yourself enough time to sleep, recovery and healing can be slow and inefficient. Taking some time off physically and mentally can have wondrous effects on your well-being. Even simply taking a moment to slow down and breathe can help calm the sinuses.
